Increase in registered AGPO enterprises in Elgeyo Marakwet

On 3rd and 4th February 2020, a Joint Program of Action on Open Contracting was adopted by representatives of Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) target beneficiaries i.e. youth, women and People living with Disabilities (PWDs) in Keiyo North (peri -urban) and Marakwet West (rural) sub counties and state actors representing Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA), Procurement Department, Youth, Sports and Social Services Department, National Government Affirmative Action Funds and Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The joint program of action provides a framework for citizen coalitions to effectively engage with state institutions to address identified capacity gaps to increase meaningful participation and advocacy towards open contracting in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

TISA together with representatives of government (Elgeyo Marakwet County Procurement Department, Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, and Controller of Budget) and representatives of citizen actors (Civil Society Organizations, representatives from Youth, Women, PWDs and Business community-(Women & Men from all four sub counties) in Elgeyo Marakwet County collaborated in designing the assessment on the level of implementation of AGPO in Elgeyo Marakwet County and administered training sessions which catalyzed the development and adoption of the Joint Program of Action within the same period.
