Supported by Mozilla foundation, TISA is developing a digital platform where citizens can hold duty-bearers accountable and easily access vital government information to enable them to take civic decisions and actions. The platform will be a space for the public to engage by asking questions and providing their opinions on various social issues. This expands the idea of public participation from ‘Baraza’ type of meetings to a virtual space where anyone could engage with their County Government since the information would be shared with the County for their action.
The platform also serves as a collection point of community issues and opinions collectively presented to the County/National Government for their response, holding them accountable for their response and action. It provides a virtual platform for rapid and targeted information dissemination and sensitization, as well as a forum for citizens and country leadership interaction. The app will also act as an information and training hub on social accountability topics. The information will be stored in various media formats, which can be downloaded/saved for offline access.
The app will also have functionality for feedback to the Jihusishe coordination team.
Objective
Develop a fully functional and secure application for android, IOS and web users that is loaded with information specific to the county, gender, and other identities and interests of the user. It should have the capability to develop reports for county and national governments on different thematic areas of concern. The app should allow users to report anonymously and thus will be designed to support data anonymization. It should also have the capability to give feedback to the users. Our main aim is to develop a simple easy to use and highly interoperable system.
