OKOA UCHUMI CAMPAIGN PARTNERS SPEAK ON THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY – BUSINESS REDEFINED
Okoa Uchumi Campaign CSO partners speak on the cost-of-living equation to wages and salaries; the rate of inflation that is driving the cost of living to the skies yet the wages are not rising as proportionately, the IMF fiscal consolidation plan for Kenya, the effect of a national budget slash of Ksh 300 Billion on the ‘mwananchi’, the inequality gap that has seen some people resolving to petty crime to steal and rob for food and other consumable commodities for survival and the austerity measures the government should take to ‘Okoa Uchumi’.
“The only way Kenyans can survive the high cost of living is if they are sure other
essential services will be complemented by government.”
Diana Gichengo, National Coordinator TISA.
